We are also very grateful to SOAR! (Supporting our Aging Religious) because thanks to them we were able to furnish and adapt the house. They have also generously contributed to a much needed technology upgrade that allowed us to purchase tablets and smartphones so that our retired sisters can continue to be in touch with their families and communities abroad.

Blessed Sacrament Convent
We are a total of 40 Sisters in this province, and the median age is 64. We have 16 Sisters over the age of 70. As we age, we are faced with more expenses and receive less income from our 19 Sisters in active ministry.
By the grace of God and the generous hearts of our donors, we were able to finally move into our newest SJS home, Blessed Sacrament Convent in Bonita, CA. Fr. Ben Davison has generously donated many of the necessary things to have a fully functional chapel in our convent. The Sisters now have the Blessed Sacrament present in their home for adoration.
Our Sisters and What Sustains Them
Our province is 40 sisters strong, and like many religious communities today, we are growing older together. A number of our sisters have reached retirement age, while fewer remain in active ministry — a shift that brings rising expenses just as the income our ministry provides grows smaller. Living expenses, medical care, prescriptions, and the long-term care some of our elder sisters now need have begun to outpace what our active sisters can earn.
This is where donor support becomes essential.
Your gift helps us keep pace with the costs of caring for a community that has given nearly a hundred years to Catholic education, the daily needs of our elder sisters, their medical and long-term care, and the ministries that depend on the sisters still serving.
May God bless you for your generosity!
